Overview:

Maintaining Oral Health care for our residents is crucial to their overall health.  In order to maintain the best possible oral care for our residents, we must be able to recognize when a resident has an oral health issue that needs to be addressed.  This 60-minute webinar presented by Letty Seidl, RDH, MHS, will focus on the intent of the Oral dental status of the MDS. This webinar will be especially helpful to those MDS coordinators and staff who do not have background knowledge about oral health issues and specific anatomical teeth/mouth structures. 

Learning Objectives:

  • Describe intent of the Oral/Dental Status of the MDS.
  • List Chronic conditions that may affect a resident’s Oral Health
  • Identify dentures and partials that do not fit properly.
  • Identify structures of the Teeth and Mouth
